After this post, I was amazed with the amount of emails I received asking me for shopping tips, especially on luxury items/goods. Most of your emails ask me for tips and reviews about buying online and many curiosities about luxury items like LV bags and Loubies. Today, I will talk about it all, shopping tips in stores and online, key pieces, and what do I think about winter sales and what kind of investments should be made at this time. I tried to simplify to the maximum, shall we start? 🙂
And it’s a fact. As we buy for evil impulse that coat or dress, we know we’ll take a stab those when we get to winter sales and the same coat, or the same dress are there, exactly at the same place, but for half the price. My advice: control.
Ok ok, there are some pieces that we already know that will disappear in the near future, and just in case it is better to buy, but there are others that we are absolutely sure that will be there, exactly at the same place, but for half the price, so the best it is to have patience. Seriously at first it hurts, but after getting used to it, you will be happy after.
#2 You can save a lot of money if you know what to leave out and what to take home
A few years ago I get quite smarter when it comes to sales, especially with those amazing pieces that I know will stay forever. What do I do? Know exactly what I have to leave, and what I want and need to buy. Leave the crazy feelings for pink glitter that costs 400€ by our side and think smart: what I will use more? I can spend money on this? I really need this? do I want something more classic or edgy? what brand do I want? Questions of this kind should always be made on the purchase, especially for luxury goods, unless you have an unlimited credit card, you should agree always with these points.
#3 Make lists
Lists, lists and more lists. It is always good to write what we think, helps us to realize the thoughts faster and less ephemeral, at least I do not forget the objectives, like if the writing is as creating a focus, a line which I can not divert . So make a list, write what you want to buy and remain on that. For example, now in winter sales what is important to buy? In my opinion a good timeless coat is always the best investment. So there is:
– Hot and timeless Winter coat (Isabel Marant like this one are always good choices)
– A key piece to use at a party (jumpsuits and dresses are always welcome, although I not invest much in these pieces)
– Shoes and Boots (Michael Kors has great and very affordable options)
– Investment in a classic leather bag brand type x that will last generations (I have a crazy love for vintage bags, especially LV and Céline)
– Investment in some classic shoes to wear in the most important occasions (my Louboutin were purchased when I think about it)
After making all the lists, after we realized what we want and need, we have to buy 🙂 Trust me, it is better to have less pieces, but good ones, than to have 500 and you use 3 times and have to go away. So it’s always good to balance all we have in the closet and above all know how to choose!
If you want you can share on Facebook or Instagram blog tips that would like to see here, what products, and what kind, would like to see here: shoes, handbags, vintage, sales, etc. I promise I make posts about that 🙂
